Webinar on AAPI Youth Mental Health with APIC
Brought to you by the APIC and in partnership with UCA WAVES, our very own executive director, Lily, will take the virtual stage in this upcoming webinar to talk about the mental health crisis in our community, and the cultural, emotional, and systemic barriers contributing to it. But just as importantly, she’ll be exploring how storytelling and education can work together to empower individuals and communities to find healing.

Silent War Screening at NC DHHS
In celebration of AAPI Heritage Month and Mental Health Awareness Month, UCA WAVES will be holding a screening of Silent War: Asian American Reckonings with Mental Health for NC DHHS employees. NAMI Walk
In Honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) holds an annual national walk to normalize conversations about mental health, reduce stigma, and secure funding for their free services. Common Roots Festival
Come celebrate with us at the 5th annual Common Roots Fest! Hosted by North Carolina Asian Americans Together (NCAAT), they’ll have Asian artists, a vendor market, performances, food, and more. This event is FREE and welcomes all ages. It will be held outdoors at Durham Central Park.
The theme, Common Roots, calls to mind the unique journeys and contributions of the many diverse communities across Asian and Pacific Islander diasporas, while highlighting the beauty we create together as we forge connections across backgrounds and generations – just as every individual root of a plant shares in nourishing each leaf and branch, so the entire being thrives.
