Research

• Xuemei Han, PhD has volunteered with UCA since 2020 and started UCA Data
  Center in 2023.
• Born in China, she came to the United States in her early 20s and later earned
  her Ph.D. in Forestry and Environmental Studies from Yale University.
• She currently serves as Fairfax County’s Principal Data Scientist and
  Demographer, leading the Economic, Demographic, and Statistical Research
  Unit (EDSR).
• Prior to her current role, she dedicated over a decade to environmental research
  and conservation. Constantly inspired by the beauty of diversity – both biological
  and cultural, she feels privileged to have the opportunity to explore and
