Peer Support Groups
WAVES Village offers a series of virtual peer support groups designed to foster emotional connection, cultural resonance, and ongoing mental wellness among Chinese and AAPI communities. Through WeChat-based daily messages of encouragement and small-group discussions, participants find accessible, everyday support in a language and context that feels familiar. The groups include dedicated spaces for LGBTQ+ parents and families, a general support group, a parent support group, and a Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) peer group that helps trainees retain skills and confidence long after their initial training. These safe, compassionate spaces empower participants to share openly, learn from one another, and build community around understanding and healing.

Book Club
The WAVES Village Book Club is a community-led, online gathering where literature becomes a bridge for reflection, learning, and connection. Participants explore stories that touch on identity, family, and mental health, using discussion as a way to deepen empathy and cultural understanding. The book club fosters intergenerational dialogue and encourages members to bring personal experience into conversation with the texts. In addition to the live discussions, daily wellness-centered quotes shared in the WeChat groups help sustain inspiration and connection between meetings, creating a rhythm of ongoing engagement and collective growth.

Educational Webinars
Hosted through WAVES Village, our educational webinars bring together experts, advocates, and community members to deepen understanding of mental health and cultural wellbeing within Chinese and AAPI communities. These online sessions cover a range of topics—from youth mental health and stigma to identity, access to care, and practical strategies for support. Through collaborations with partners such as The Asian American Foundation (TAAF), WAVES Village provides nationally accessible learning opportunities that blend professional expertise with lived experience. Each webinar is designed to inform, empower, and equip participants—from parents to youth-serving professionals—with tools to foster empathy, awareness, and action in their own communities.
