Tianlin holds a Master’s degree with distinction in Creative and Collaborative Enterprise from University College London and a Master’s degree with distinction in Digital Technologies, Communication, and Education from the University of Manchester. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication from South China Normal University, graduating in the top tier of her class. Her academic training spans social theory, applied ethnography, media literacy, and multimedia design, with a strong emphasis on collaborative and participatory approaches.

Her research interests include mental health communication, social work, community-based intervention, and mixed research methods. Tianlin has served as a Research Assistant at Hong Kong Baptist University’s School of Communication, supporting projects in health communication, mHealth, and health psychology. Her work has included participant recruitment, survey design, qualitative and quantitative data analysis, literature reviews, and contributions to research protocols and ethics applications.

Across her academic and applied research projects, Tianlin has explored topics such as media literacy and public behavior change, online collaborative learning, cross-cultural relationships, and audience engagement in new media environments. She brings experience in ethnographic research, focus group facilitation, and data visualization, and is skilled in tools such as NVivo, SPSS, Python, and Adobe Creative Suite.

In addition to her research background, Tianlin has professional experience in digital product operations and creative advertising, contributing to large-scale projects in technology, marketing, and visual storytelling. Her work has been recognized nationally through multiple awards in advertising, film, and public service media.

Tianlin is passionate about using culturally grounded communication to promote mental health awareness, reduce stigma, and foster inclusive community engagement. She believes that thoughtful, empathetic storytelling and accessible media can play a vital role in building trust, understanding, and healing across cultures.
