Ran (Emma) Tao is a Youth Ambassador and Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) Training Research Assistant at WAVES. She graduated from Boston College with a degree in Applied Psychology and Communication and is now pursuing a master’s degree in Higher and Postsecondary Education at Teachers College, Columbia University. Alongside her studies, Ran currently works as a Graduate Assistant in the Admissions Office at Columbia’s School of General Studies, where she reviews applications, advises prospective students, and helps plan outreach and recruitment events. She is passionate about student access, mental health advocacy, and creating supportive learning environments for diverse learners.
