WAVES Makers Young Professional Council: Peggy Wong
Peggy O. Wong is a board certified psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner and second-generation Asian American born and raised in California. She earned a B.A. at UC Berkeley before obtaining her MSN from Yale School of Nursing. Alongside Dr. Eunice Yuen and the Compassionate Home, Action Together (CHATogether) organization at Yale School of Medicine, she explored the impact of theater skit development on Gen Zers’ mental health and family relationships. Her interests include immigrant and minority health and to better understand the cultural variations in the prevalence, presentation, and treatment of psychiatric disorders in AAPI communities. Peggy is passionately dedicated to advancing representation, inclusion, and equity for underrepresented communities, striving to amplify diverse voices and create empowering environments where they can thrive. Her spare time is spent wine tasting, diving into all things Harry Potter, and practicing meditation.
