Tenly Biggs, MSW, LMSW served as the deputy director for the Office of Minority Health at the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).  She oversaw and managed integrated care grants, contracts, and initiatives focused on improving the behavioral health of disparity vulnerable populations.  Tenly served in different committees and workgroups dedicated to improving the mental health of Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders (AANHPI), working with national, state, and community-based organizations.  She helped train AAPI parents to identify mental health symptoms to address high school students’ suicide risks and behavioral health issues.  Tenly is also a licensed social worker and a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer who served in Niger.

Tenly c0-hosted our Roots & Resilience pre-conference session in 2025, and now serves as a UCA WAVES Board Member. We are honored to have her expertise and passion in guiding our mission.
