Kaw Htoo
Farm Manager Of Karen Community Farm at Oaky Grove

I was born in the Karen state in Burma. I grew up in the civil war period so I
had to move from village to village everywhere in the Karen state. I finally
arrived on the border of Thailand and Burma. After I graduated from high
school I attended a teacher training courses at the Karen National Union’s
headquarters. I started teaching in Baw Naw refugee camp since 1986. In
April 28, 1995 our camp was attacked and burned down so we moved to
Mae La refugee camp. I kept teaching as head of the primary school. Then
the leader of education department trained be the teachers trainer. I
resettled in the USA in July 27, 2007. I am helping my Karen community
now as the community leader.
