CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS!
Ready to share your passion and hard work with the world? Good news: The WAVES Mental Health Summit is now accepting abstract submissions featuring research, storytelling, and community-based work that aligns with the mission of WAVES—Wellness through Advocacy, Voices, Education, and Support. Merit Awards will be available for youth presenters (ages 15-24 years).
Suggested topics include, but are not limited to:
- Scientific research on AAPI youth, families, and communities
- Mental health, well-being, and culturally responsive care
- Education, training, and awareness initiatives
- Community-based programs and support systems
- Advocacy efforts, civic engagement, and policy initiatives
- Storytelling, media, and creative expression as tools for voice and healing
- Second-generation immigrant identity, belonging, and intergenerational dynamics
- Navigation of sociocultural and political challenges (e.g., discrimination, representation, public discourse)
- Communication within and across communities
- The role of culture, heritage, and tradition in shaping identity and wellness
- Youth leadership and community-driven change
- Peer support networks and grassroots initiatives
