Can We Count on You This Giving Tuesday?

Today marks #GivingTuesday, 24 hours dedicated to giving back to community. We at UCA WAVES want to reach out with a heartfelt message, because every dollar you give helps us save lives.

For many Asian Americans, mental health struggles remain unseen, hidden behind stigma, language barriers, cultural expectations, or a lack of access to culturally responsive support. But because of supporters like you, WAVES is able to offer vital programs that meet people where they are—programs that make a difference, such as:

Our Bilingual Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) trainings teach community members to recognize and respond to mental health crises, creating “mental health guardians” in families and neighborhoods.

🩵 WAVES Village—a peer-support network—provides a safe, culturally aware space for individuals to share struggles, find empathy, and feel understood.

🩵 Through workshops, webinars, and educational resources, we work to reduce stigma and increase mental health literacy so that families can talk, understand, and heal together.

🩵 Our documentary film, Silent War, breaks silence on the mental health crisis in the Asian American community and is being used as an educational tool for institutions across the country.

And that’s just some of what we do—but there’s still so much more work to be done. Suicide is the leading cause of death among AAPI youth aged 15–24, a stark sign that our communities remain underserved and deeply hurting.

That’s why we’re asking for your help this Giving Tuesday. Your donation—whether $5 or $500—goes directly to supporting these life-changing programs, training volunteers, maintaining peer-support networks, and creating safe spaces for healing. Every gift moves us closer to a future where AAPI youth feel seen, supported, and empowered to seek help without shame. Your generosity helps break the silence and offers hope where it’s needed most.

With deepest gratitude,
