We’re Hiring for a Strategic Grants Coordinator!

WAVES is currently hiring for a Strategic Grants Coordinator! This role will lead the administration, tracking, and reporting of UCA WAVES’ current grant portfolio—currently seven grants ranging from medium to large sizes, received from federal, state, county, and private funders, with the opportunity to help grow and shape our development strategy. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a collaborative spirit. The ideal candidate will bring experience in both grants compliance and strategic planning and will work closely with program, finance, and executive leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Grant Compliance & Oversight

  • Manage all aspects of active grants, ensuring UCA WAVES remains in full compliance with funder requirements
  • Coordinate the timely submission of all reports, budgets, and renewals
  • Track grant milestones, deliverables, and deadlines across teams
  • Liaise with fiscal sponsors, program staff, and funders to ensure alignment and transparency Systems Development & Internal Coordination

Funder Relations & Reporting

  • Draft and submit high-quality interim and final reports
  • Help maintain strong relationships with existing funders through professional and responsive communication
  • Support proposal development, especially budget narratives and work plans

Qualifications

  •  3+ years of experience in grants management or nonprofit finance
  • Familiarity with federal and/or large foundation grant compliance is preferred
  • Ability to manage deadlines, budgets, and multiple stakeholders with minimal oversight
  • Commitment to culturally competent and equity-driven work, especially in AAPI communities
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Google Workspace, and grants management systems

Nice to Have

  • Knowledge of Chinese American or AAPI mental health contexts
  • Experience working with fiscal sponsors or national nonprofit networks
  • Comfort working in a start-up or growing nonprofit environment

Compensation

Hourly rate commensurate with experience. Estimated 25-30 hours/week to start, with flexible scheduling. This part-time position is remote, though periodic virtual and in-person meetings with the team and funders are required.
