On February 15, 2025, parents of teens and young adults gathered in the heart of the RTP area for an in-person workshop focused on the unique challenges of Asian American parenting. Parenting is tough, and for Asian Americans, it comes with added layers of cultural expectations, family dynamics, and societal pressures. Studies show 67% of Asian Americans consider being a good parent essential, compared to 50% of the general public. Yet, parenting styles vary widely within the Asian diaspora, reflecting both deeply rooted traditions and the challenges of raising children in a new cultural context. This workshop provided a much-needed space to explore these dynamics, offering parents practical strategies to foster healthy communication, resilience, and mutual understanding within their families.

A heartfelt thank you to Ms. Grace He, LCMHCA, for leading the session with expertise and care! Attendees were especially engaged in discussions on parenting in the digital age and strengthening relationships, where they shared experiences and learned from one another.
Stay tuned for more workshops and resources specifically designed to support Asian American families. Together, let’s create a stronger, healthier future for our youth!
