UCA Executive Director was invited to attend the actions packed and ideas filled expert panel convening – “Embedding Equity and Building the Suicide Prevention Workforce of Underserved Communities – Technical Experts Panel “ by Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) Office of Behavioral Health Equity July 9-10 in DC.

The official SAMHSA welcome by Sonia Chessen, Deputy Assistant Secretary, and Dr. Larke Huang welcomed the attendees on behalf of Office of Behavioral Health Equity (OBHE). The two day event led by the brilliant and kindest human being Dr. Larke Huang and Tenly Biggs . It was action packed, ideas filled with rich conversations and connections building for future meaningful collaboration to advance mental health equity in underserved communities. Lily said” I am so Grateful for this great convening and learning from some of the best in suicide prevenion in the nation. I have never learn so much in such a short time about suicide prevention, it is extremely inspiring and affirming to our continued work to serve AANHPI communities and beyond”.
